Function of Granite Worktable for Coordinate Measuring Machine

The worktable is an important component of a coordinate measuring machine. In the early days, CMM worktables were made of cast iron or cast steel. However, granite has been widely adopted for worktable manufacturing in recent years, thanks to its minimal deformation, good stability, wear resistance, rust-free property, low cost and easy machining. Some coordinate measuring machines are equipped with liftable worktables to extend the measuring range of the Z-axis, while others come with rotary worktables to expand the measurement functions of the CMM.
